New Delhi:Every year the veteran poet-lyricist-filmmaker Gulzar goes away from Mumbai to an undisclosed location on his birthday. This is a yearly affair, and always a secret, only to be revealed once he’s back in town.

It’s his 77th birthday today, and in keeping with the tradition, a poet by
heart, a lyricist and filmmaker by profession, Gulzar is off to a vacation with his family including a new member – his grandson this time.

It’s a little known fact which his fan, friend and the owner of www.gulzaronline.com, Pawan Jha revealed to hindustantimes.com.

Last year, Gulzar couldn’t go off for the annual holiday, as he was unwell.

Jha told HT that the lyricist has visited places like Mandu (Madhya Pradesh) and Hampi (Karanataka) during his birthday vacations.
